Well, here we are! Approaching the end of the academic year, the end of the esports season, AND the end of spring! Let’s not waste any time, this is going to be much longer than the previous entries!
ROCKET LEAGUE NATIONALS
Last time, we were all left on a little bit of a cliffhanger. Would our nationals team make it all the way? Could they make it to the finals?
Unfortunately, the answer was no. Despite how close the match was, and how well things were going, they couldn’t quite clear the final hurdle and lost in a close but devasting 3-4. 3rd place is absolutely nothing to scoff at, after all, that means our incredible team made the podium! Congratulations on the bronze, and well done to our opponents, good luck in the finals! We’re still aiming for the top next year, so don’t get lazy!
A RECAP
Since all of our teams have now been knocked out, why not take a look back and see how we did overall? After all, we have quite a few teams to go over. Rocket League Opens, both Overwatch teams, Marvel Rivals and Valorant.
So, let’s get into it!
MARVEL RIVALS
You may remember, at the beginning of the season, we had a Marvel Rivals team that silently disappeared from these blog posts. Simply put, interest waned, we didn’t make the top 16 playoffs and there was no confirmation if there was going to be enough participants for the spring cup. As such, the team quietly closed. We’re still very pleased with our first ever Marvel Rivals team, and hopefully we’ll either see them return next year, or perhaps a new roster of players!
OVERWATCH OPENS
Despite the early closure of the team due to a lack of players, Overwatch Opens still performed quite well. You can even go back and have a look. They had a solid win rate! If any of our former Opens players still want to play, we’ll happily welcome them back in next year’s tournament. All in all, they were still a team to be proud of!
OVERWATCH NATIONALS
On the flip side, our nationals team stuck through every trial and tribulation thrown at them. They may have had a rough patch, but they’ve got one incredible fighting spirit! Making it all the way to the lower bracket’s semi-finals, before finally being knocked out. No matter what, they didn’t go down easily and absolutely did not give up! Congratulations to them for making it so far!
ROCKET LEAGUE OPENS
A rather unlucky spell hit our Opens team in their top 32 match. Getting knocked out right at the start! They had an incredible run through the rumble stage, nearly going without a single loss! It’s a streak that’ll be remembered, that’s for sure. With how they play, they really were a team to be reckoned with! Well done to them for making it to the top 32! Absolutely amazing! Hopefully we’ll see some of them again next year too!
VALORANT
A team with a lot of spirit and determination to get as far as they possibly can, and their results show! A very solid number of wins under their belt. Definitely not a team to take lightly. And all their skills paid off! As in the end, they made it to the top 16! Which, in my honest opinion, is incredible. Well done to them as well!
ROCKET LEAGUE NATIONALS
And of course, congratulations again to Rocket League Nationals for making it all the way to third place! An amazing podium finish for one of our incredible teams.
TO ALL OF OUR TEAMS
To all of our players in all of our teams, we’re all very proud of you and how far you made it! Well done to you all, and if you’re interested in continuing to play for us, our teams will open up again for the next tournament. We’ll happily have you back! We truly believe that all of you can make it all the way to the finals, and through every match, we’ll be cheering you on! Thank you all for playing and reading.
WHAT NOW?
For now, there will be very little in terms of any news or updates. Expect things to properly start up again sometime in the new academic year. There might be a post here or there, but things will mostly be on standby here until around October. Which is when our new teams get their first games, so keep an eye out for that! Until then, enjoy the summer and the autumn! Make sure to wear suncream and stay hydrated!
