It is incredibly unfortunate that today we announce our Overwatch 2 Opens team for the 2025/26 season has been closed down. Simply put, after some time, some of our players just didn’t want to play anymore and there wasn’t enough interest in tryouts to fill the gaps. It happens!

So. Last week, we made the difficult decision to close the team. It’s unfortunate, and we wish our players nothing but the best. Sometimes, not everything will go smoothly, and that’s okay. But don’t think we’re out just yet…

What now?

Even though our Overwatch 2 Opens team has been closed, our Nationals team is still out there on the battlefield! Behind them now, are the players of the former Opens team, cheering them on. They’ve got a game in just a few hours, and we all have the utmost confidence in them. If any of our players are seeing this, you’ve got this!

Besides that, our Opens team for Overwatch 2 will return next season, with a fresh start and roster. If you’re at Midkent, and will be here in September/October, keep your eyes open and come join the teams!
